-Tony Gwynn, outfielder, San Diego Padres

home again, in pdx, as it were. moving here was just the first part. now i've actually got to start a life. anyway, typical day starts off on the computer with the kitties. then downstairs to paint. not much human interaction until cousin zina comes home from the steel mill. it's harder than i thought to just get motivated to paint all day. although this is what i thought i wanted. weird.

alone.

ben has welding class all day every f-ing day i'm here except friday and saturday. it kinda sucks. i guess tomorrow i'll figure out somethings to do BY MYSELF. (do i sound as bitter and angry as i feel?) anyway, tammy, todd, help me out here. i'm gonna have a car. we passed the turnoff for akaka falls this morning and i said, i guess i can go there later BY MYSELF. i think it made ben feel bad. oh well. it is also very rainy here. if i wanted to sit around all day long (by myself) with the rain outside i could've done that in portland. ok, i guess i have to shake it off. need some help from the stellanovers on this one.

I have arrived in my new town Portland, Oregon

So all i've heard about since i told people i was moving here is how rainy it is. "hope you like rain," or "the weather's kinda rainy all the time" or "you better get a good rain coat." and yes, it was raining when i drove in to town last night but now, as i sit at my cousin's computer the sun is shining, in my face. i don't want to complain, as apparently this is a rare occurrence in this rainy town, but come on, i'm practically blinded. sigh.
but i am here, safe, and my kitties are just exhausted from the 12 hours of whining they did in the car. and i am exhausted from the physical and emotional turmoil of moving by myself, 500 miles away. a nap sounds good right now.
